Saturday - Finding friends

We are in Guangzhou, where we will complete all of the paperwork required by the USA. We are so glad to be here with friends. We have finally caught up with the York's and gotten to meet their sweet Molly. We met lots of other families at breakfast with their new children, all with unique yet similar stories. We then went for our medical exam so she can be cleared to leave the country. Lots more families all completing adoptions of precious children. Its overwhelming to see how GOD places the perfect child in each family. Everyones child just fits them.
At the medical exam with the sweet nurses who pose over and over for pictures.

Katie Kay playing with our wonderful guide Amy.

Its hard to get pictures of all 3 of us when its only been the 3 of us.  This is in the Nanchang airport.

She is a precious child and we thank God for sending her to us!!!

Half Way Home

It feels good to be clean !

Mom & Dad have been telling me about
all my brothers and sisters
and we have "a 6 child policy" - WoW!

"How many hair bows did you bring Mom? "

Spectacular water and light show each night in downtown Nanchang

Enjoying watching the show

Katie Kay has the most beautiful eyes and already knows how to use them !

Enjoying the sights and breeze from the #1 Pavilion in China,-
The Tengwang Pavilion

Cutie Pie

It pays to be cute or else you might end up as lunch...

Thought I was ordering 2 chicken sandwich combos dinners last night -
Instead I ordered 2 kids meals by mistake but we got 2 really cool toys.
No wonder it only cost $7.14 (US) and why all the young KFC employees were laughing so hard. Too funny !

DaDa finally got to hold his newest princess today for the first time.
It wasn't for long but we're making progress and it sure felt good !
We catch a flight to Guangzhou at 2 pm tomorrow after we are issued Katie Kay's Chinese passport. There we will complete her medical exams and our US consulate appointment which includes our swearing in ceremony later next week. We will also meet up with our good friends the York's and meet Molly for the first time. It's hard to believe how much our lives and families have changed in the last week since we saw them last. You can follow their current journey to adopt Molly in the Gansu Provence on their blog by clicking Here .

****A very special "we love you" to our children who are patiently waiting for us back home. We love you and miss you very, very much. Please give Kirby an extra big hug and kiss from us and tell her that soon we will be getting on that airplane and fly and fly and fly, bringing her sister home…. We think of all of you often but especially Kirby this week while we have been in Jiangxi, seeing all the beautiful little children is a constant reminder….           Dad & Mom

Mirror, Mirror on the Hotel Wall

What a blessing and privilege we have been given as we live out the answer to our specific prayers for G od to prepare Katie Kay's heart to bond and trust us with as little trauma and as quick as possible. Literally within 5 minutes of Katherine holding her for the very first time, Katie Kay went sound to sleep on her chest and when she woke up an hour latest she knew Katherine was her mommy and has never looked back. Only the L ord can do something so deep in our hearts and this why we praise and thank Him alone for little bundle of grace He has blessed us with.

"Mirror, mirror on the hotel wall; who is the prettiest little princess of them all? It must be me" says Katie Kay and her mommy and daddy agree.

A view from our hotel room - Galactic Peace International Hotel
We have the same sweet lady as our guide in NanChang as we did 2 years ago. Only this time we are Mary's only family this week so it's a much more personal experience. Mary lives within walking distance to our hotel with her husband and 2 children (a 20 yr old son in college and 11 yr old daughter). We are learning much more about this area and their culture which is so fascinating and we look forward to sharing. We have a lot more to see and do in the next 2 days and will post a sampling of the sights and fortunately for you, not some of the smells.. LOL

Thank You God for My Mommy

We had a good first night probably because we were all exhausted after such a traumatic and emotion filled day.. Katie Kay slept through the night even though it took Katherine a hour or so to stop jumping up each time Katie Kay wiggled in her crib.

I have to say the L ord has blessed our family beyond our imagination with another precious child. Her physical beauty alone took my breath away the instant I saw her. It's now been 24 hours since we were united, her sweet personality and spirit are equally breath taking. Here are a few more photos from yesterday and this morning in a weak attempt to convey what we are experiencing.

who is the pretty girl in the "window"?

This morning is likely the first time
the same person who put Katie Kay to bed the night before
woke her the next morning.

"Thank you God for my mommy"
Thank you God for Katie Kay !!!

Gotcha Day - August 6, 2012

What a great day we have had. We left the hotel at 4:30AM and flew to Nanchang. When we got to the hotel Katie Kay was not here yet, so we got to the room and waited, then the most beautiful little girl in the world came in. Her nanny was holding her and gave her to me. She began to cry and want her nanny. It was hard but I am grateful she had a nanny that she loved. The nanny left and Katie kay cried a few minutes and then fell fast asleep in my arms for about an hour. When she woke up she seemed to know me and would reach for me if I put her down. We had 3 appointments today to do paper work so we are all exhausted. Tonight we were showing her how to kiss and David and I would kiss and then I leaned and kissed her, and then she leaned to me and kissed me on the cheek. What a great end to a great day. Thank you for your prayers for her adjustment. - Katherine

Katie Kay went sound asleep within 5 minutes of her Mama holding her. Her first word when she woke was "Mama"
